Re: Eid al-Fitr Proposed as the 16th Municipal Holiday The Governing Body held discussions and proposed the Muslim Holiday Eid al-Fitr as an official Municipal Holiday. It is an official holiday for the Newark Board of Education. City employees are forced to use personal time for the holiday. The Governing Body is hopeful that the Administration strongly consider this proposal.
